Higham Vets is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act"), the data controller is Higham Veterinary Practice Ltd, 3 College Street, Higham Ferrers, NN10 8XD.
Vaccinations and illness
HVPS recommends all pets are up to date with their routine vaccinations against infectious diseases. However, if you do not routinely vaccinate your pet, then you accept that this is your risk and you will not hold HVPS liable in the event your pet becomes ill with an infectious condition during or after its appointment. We also request that if your dog is showing any clinical signs or has recently been treated for kennel cough that you do not visit the spa to avoid risk to other dogs using the spa.Allergies
HVPS is not responsible for allergic reactions resulting from the manufacturer recommended usage of any products. If you have any questions concerning your pet’s sensitivity to such treatments please ask for a free health check with our Vet Team to be included on your visit to the spa.The Groom Team are not trained vets or nurses
You acknowledge your booking is with the Groom Team and not the Vet Team. The Groom Team is not trained to diagnose, detect or treat illness. Should you have any concerns about the health of your pet or the suitability of any spa treatments please ask for a free health check with our Vet Team to be included on your visit to the spa.Matted coats
Matted coats are uncomfortable for your pet and very detrimental to their health. You acknowledge that treating and removing matted coats is a slow and risky process. Keeping your pets stress to a minimum and their welfare is our absolute priority. HVPS shall not be held responsible for minor skin damage or irritation caused by removing a matted coat.Muzzles & Cuts
The welfare of every pet is HVPS’s highest concern. Should we feel the safety or wellbeing of any pets, staff or public is in jeopardy, a muzzle may be used or services refused or discontinued. In such an event the full cost of the groom still applies. You acknowledge that occasionally minor cuts and grazes may occur in the groom process and HVPS will not be at fault.Emergencies
In case of any emergencies we will contact you on the number you have provided. However, if we are unable to contact you HVPS in its sole discretion may engage the services of our Vet Team at your expense.Prices
All grooms require a £25 non refundable deposit to secure your slot time. Bookings are NOT transferrable/changeable/moveable less than 48 hours before the time of the groom.You acknowledge late pick-ups incur a charge. You will be given an estimated collection time when you leave your pet at HVPS. You will receive a call 15 minutes ahead of completion time and are expected to collect your pet within 30 minutes of that call. HVPS reserves the right to charge £5 for every additional 15 minutes until you arrive.
Prices are calculated by the time taken to groom your pet to reward those who come regularly and those who keep their pets’ coats in good condition. At the time of booking you will have received a price estimate dependent on the information you provided. Upon presentation of your pet the groomer will issue an updated price estimate now they can see the size and coat condition of your pet. However the final price will be further affected by your pet’s compliance, behaviour, aggression, familiarity with grooming and health. You agree the final price will be determined by the time the groom takes
